With a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Gizmoaudio founder, owner, and lifelong musician, Charlie Luke, set out to design his own distortion pedal that would give him the clean sound he couldn’t get out of other pedals. After years of testing and honing, Charlie created and developed incredible new circuitry that gave him the exact sound he was looking for. The Sawmill was finally born.
For the first time, he was able to play full chords without them becoming muddy. In addition, the pedal was amazing in its ability to highlight picking position and pickup selection and therefore the guitar's overall tone. Dynamics were maintained where soft playing came out clean and where more aggressive playing caused break-up just like a tube amp It all sounded good. But most of all, playing became fun again.
